Cold Forging
- At Ecoted Technology, we specialize in the precision manufacturing of metal components through cold forging. Our process involves using extrusion force at room temperature, resulting in higher hardness and reduced ductility.
- However, the benefits of cold forging extend beyond these factors, as it also leads to lower manufacturing costs and environmental advantages, creating a win-win situation for all stakeholders.
Advantages of Cold Forging
Our cold forging technique minimizes the need for additional machining of the forged products, as the billets undergo annealing prior to forging. This eliminates the requirement for additional heating processes before machining, resulting in finished products that closely match the weight of the original billet. The process also offers exceptional dimensional accuracy, making it ideal for producing small parts. With shorter production cycles and longer die life, cold forging is increasingly favored by manufacturers.
While our cold forging process results in very hard aluminum billets with poor ductility, it is not suitable for highly customized designs. Additionally, products forged through cold extrusion may require additional surface heat treatment to eliminate any cracks, fissures, or hardening.Our expertise ensures that only certain types of metals are suitable for cold forging. For instance, metals with excessively high carbon content are unsuitable due to poor ductility, which increases the risk of brittleness or fracturing during the cold forging process.
